Ari was looking to establish an online presence for her café that reflected the same warmth, authenticity, and attention to detail found in the physical space. With extensive experience in the hospitality industry and a clear vision for the brand, the website needed to feel welcoming, considered, and visually refined.
To extend the brand into the digital space, I supported Ari in setting up her Google Business Profile and designed and developed a website to act as a central hub for the café online.
Ari had a strong vision for the brand from the outset. She was looking for a clean yet sleek aesthetic, supported by soft, warm colour palettes that communicated approachability and comfort. These branding foundations and mood boards guided the visual direction of the website.
The goal was simple: create a website that established Mocha Chino Café’s online presence, made it easy for people to find the café, and provided a space to share announcements and upcoming events to help build a local community around the brand.
This goal strongly influenced the layout and design decisions. For hospitality websites in particular, imagery plays a key role — people eat with their eyes. The site uses rich, inviting photography to showcase both the aesthetic of the café and the quality of the food, helping visitors immediately connect with the experience.
From a performance and discoverability perspective, search engine optimisation was also a key consideration. Rather than displaying the menu purely as images, the menu was built using real text. This allows search engines to properly understand the offerings, increasing visibility when people search for specific foods or café options in the area.
